Early Childhood
He had completed his early schooling at Apeejay Education Society, Jalandhar, Punjab. He was fond of Punjabi music since his childhood and participated in the school annual function many times. Kambi had intense love for Punjabi songs and used to sing in “Shabads” of “Prabhat Feri”. His mother was also fond of singing, and he learned most of the singing skills from her.
Apart from singing, he was so much affectionate about football playing, and he used to go 10 km away from his house for football practice during his childhood. He was feeling completely devastated and not getting any way out. At that time, he got a golden chance to work in a bakery for 1000 dollar in month. Besides this, he started doing part-time work like washing trucks to carry on his hotel management studies. As he was fond of music, he used to sing at parties and earn extra money, around 100 to 200 dollars per performance.
Life took a turn.
One day he was singing on a party in Canada while one of his friend listened to his song and felt deeply attached with it. He suggested to record his song. Listening to his friend’s word, Kambi decided to save some money and recorded his first audio at 700 dollars. The recording has gone viral; people loved it so much that he started getting more proposals for recording songs. This famous song was “Suraj Nu Salama,” which brought him into the limelight.
Then he planned to record song, “Challenge to NASA,” which was another hit at that time. This song has received so much popularity that Kambi became a star overnight. After being deported from Canada, he recorded the song “ Yaar Trudeau” to pull the attention of Canadian President Justin Trudeau on his recent visit to India. He also shared the heart-wrenching videos on social media, stating his disappointment with Canada after spending seven long years, and immediately drew support from several singers from the Punjabi industry.
