David Hyde Pierce Biography, Movies, Wife, Networth, Career

As for the day, David Hyde Pierce’s net worth amounts to $30 million. He is a talented actor with four Emmy awards in his hands, but at least over the last few years, this was not the reason why David was dragged into the center of media attention. For decades media has speculated about his sexuality. And still, for many people it came as a shock when the actor officially came out of the closet as gay in 2007. The same year, when accepting his Tony Award for the performance in Curtains, Pierce thanked his “partner, Brian, because it’s 24 years of listening to your damn notes—that’s why I’m up here tonight.” he was referring to television producer, director, and writer Brian Hargrove. The couple got married in 2008, as you can tell from the quote, after a really long time together.

A lot of controversies followed this event, but the public criticism did not encourage the actor to retract from the fight for equal marriage rights. Quite to the contrary, in 2009 David said he has been going into marriage-equality rallies „because I had the experience of…having this private thing [marriage] suddenly dragged out into the public and having people I don’t know take a vote–I mean, can you imagine? If you’re married, the people in your state get together and say, “well, you know what, you’re not.” It’s a very odd thing. (…) it was a very angry-making feeling“. Anyway, we think that both the sources of David Hyde Pierce’s net worth and his personal achievements are not any less interesting than his personal relationships. So let‘s leave the gossip aside and concentrate on these topics.

David Hyde Pierce’s net worth started to grow in the mid to late 1980s, as he made his movie debut with The Terminator and appeared on one of the episodes of the television series Spenser: For Hire. Following this, the young actor featured in a variety of movies, such as The Appointments of Dennis Jennings, Crossing Delaney, Little Man Tate, The Fisher King, and Sleepless in Seattle. But a real breakthrough in David‘s career came up in 1993 when he landed a role in the television series Frasier. For more than ten years on this show, Pierce has portrayed Dr. Niles Crane. His work did not go unnoticed: for his brilliant performance the actor received four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series, two TCA Awards for Individual Achievement in Comedy and TV Guide Award for Favorite Actor in a Comedy. Although the actor remained active after the series was finished, I think it remains true to say that Frasier is the main source of David Hyde Pierce’s net worth.
